Global student mobility
Together with some 80 other universities around the world, Universidad Europea is part of the Laureate International Universities network, the largest global provider for education.
Since the onset of our partnership, the PRODIREKT team noted the growing international emphasis by the University, visible not only through the teaching in English of some courses and programs, but also in the large number of opportunities for international mobility (notably with other universities that are also part of the Laureate Group). The University has more than 300 internship agreements in over 40 countries. Last year 22% of their graduating students had spent a period of study abroad.
In addition, Universidad Europea has over 6,000 agreements with companies, as a result, 90% of its students find a job within 12 months of completing their studies.
Real Madrid Graduate School-Universidad Europea
In 2006, Real Madrid C.F. and the European University of Madrid created the first University School specialized in sports and in sports related management, health, communications, and leisure/recreation.
The Real Madrid Graduate School-Universidad Europea extends beyond the boundaries of sports by training professional leaders in all the disciplines that are associated, one way or another, with this area.
Forbes has ranked the Real Madrid Graduate School-Universidad Europea among the top three business schools in Spain in the MBA category.
Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM)
Studying in Madrid
Madrid is the capital city of Spain and one of Europe’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. It offers a rich cultural experience, excellent universities, and a high quality of life.
One of the most notable features of Madrid is its stunning architecture, which ranges from historic landmarks like the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum to modern structures like the Four Towers business complex. The city is also famous for its parks and green spaces, including the Retiro Park, which is a popular destination for picnics, jogging, and relaxation.
Living in Madrid is an incredible experience. Madrid has a vibrant social scene that caters to a diverse range of interests, from lively nightclubs and bars to art galleries and museums. It is also a culinary hub, offering a range of traditional Spanish dishes as well as international cuisine. Studying in Madrid can’t be done without experiencing the tapas the city is known for. Head over to Malasaña or the party barrios near La Latina to experience just how the Madrileño students enjoy their tapas and cañas.
University – About UEM
Universidad Europea de Madrid (European University of Madrid), established in 1995, is one of the most international universities in Spain. This institution has an international community of 17,000 students, 83,000 alumni and more than 1,100 professors and staff, making it the largest private university in Madrid.

UEM has renewed its four star rating in the prestigious international university quality accreditation rating QS Stars, increasing its total rating by 95 points compared to 2015. Specifically, the European University of Madrid has obtained the highest score (five stars) in Internationalization, Employability, Teaching, Online Learning and Inclusiveness. UEM is also the first university in Spain to achieve ISO 14001, and the first in the world to receive QualiCert quality certification.
The University has concentrated mainly on its teaching mission and has developed a very strong student-centered focus. PRODIREKT academic advisors particularly like UEM’s mentor scheme whereby each student is assigned an academic staff member to guide him or her through studies as well as career choices and other matters. A training scheme has also been put in place to guide staff in this aspect of their work.

The professional orientation of the University is also very clear in the significant efforts developed by UEM to secure internships for all its students. This has been regarded as a relevant and very positive feature by many of our students, since it helps them greatly not only in their training, but also in the transition to the labor market (which is difficult in Spain). Altogether, this has very positive consequences in the good employability of UEM’s graduates.
UEM operates two campuses on the outskirts of Madrid – the main one at Villaviciosa de Odón, and a newly finished Alcobendas Campus. The Alcobendas campus is situated in an area which is a hub for businesses and entrepreneurship, and is intended to serve as an incubator for graduate students in business.
MADRID – VILLAVICIOSA DE ODÓN CAMPUS
The Villaviciosa campus is located 24 km to the west of the city center in the suburban setting of the large town of Villaviciosa de Odón, Community of Madrid. It is the biggest campus of Universidad Europea, noted for its innovative facilities where students carry out practical assignments and come into contact with the professional world from day one.
The town of Villaviciosa has a population of almost 30,000. It is an amazing place where you will be able to share your university life with students from all over the world. You can travel Villaviciosa-Madrid/Madrid-Villaviciosa by taking the bus 518. The trip will last no more than 25 minutes.
State-of-the-art facilities – the 25-hectare Villaviciosa de Odón campus has five teaching buildings, two dormitories for up to 500 people, and an extensive sports complex with swimming pools, gym, athletics track, tennis courts, soccer fields, paddle tennis courts, beach volleyball court, and a sports hall. Students can also study and complete their training in a comfortable and enriching setting of the extensive Dulce Chacón library.
Address: C. Tajo, s/n, 28670 Villaviciosa de Odón, Madrid, Spain
MADRID – ALCOBENDAS CAMPUS
Alcobendas Campus is designed to be a unique space where the University is in permanent contact with the professional business world, a key factor in the comprehensive development of the students. This Campus has a space within Universidad Europea called HUB Emprende, dedicated to learning, work, creativity and aiming to promote entrepreneurship.
The campus is located in the city of Alcobendas and measures 13,000 m2. Its four stories house the following: more than 50 classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices, group project rooms for students, tutoring offices, and multi-purpose spaces. The building is fitted with the latest in teaching equipment and computer networks.
Student Life
International students require particular attention in their academic and personal integration in the life of the university. This is very relevant in view of any institution’s ambition to increase its international attractiveness, and UEM does a very good job in that respect by putting strong emphasis on its campus life. In addition to organizing workshops, talks and conferences, the University conducts cultural, sports, educational, cooperative and leisure activities.
We particularly like UEM’s Student Clubs. The clubs are created and managed by and for the students themselves. See how you can meet new friends, as well as learn and develop skills through participating in these dynamic, fun and, above all, student-led clubs:

Apartments and Rooms
The two campuses of the European University of Madrid are far from the center of the capital.
VILLAVICIOSA DE ODÓN CAMPUS – When looking for rooms and apartments for students near the main campus of Villaviciosa you can choose to live in that town, although you may want to choose neighborhoods in Madrid that are well connected with the university.
If you do not have a car or motorcycle, the best option is to look for a room in the areas near Príncipe Pío, as well as the southern part of Argüelles, as it has good communications by bus. The bus line 518 runs the Principe Pio-Villaviciosa de Odón route. This area is one of the most demanded to find student housing. It would also be a good choice to stay in areas of Moncloa or Puerta del Angel, since transport options on underground Line 6 link with Principe Pio station in 10 minutes.
ALCOBENDAS CAMPUS – Alcobendas is a town of about 100,000 inhabitants, located in the northeast of Madrid. It has many residential areas, so it can also be a good idea to look for accommodation there. If you prefer to live in Madrid, but do not want to spend much time commuting, then we recommend to look for accommodation in the northern neighborhoods, such as Fuencarral or Tetuan.

The average cost of living is difficult to calculate, but we have listed some figures that may help you:
- Renting a room in Madrid can cost from €350 to €700 per month, while studios are between €800 and €1,500 per month, depending on the area.
- Utilities (water, electricity and gas) vary according to the time of year (in the summer you may use air conditioning, and in the winter heating), but roughly speaking, utilities are around €150 per month.
- The monthly shopping basket (groceries, etc.) could be around €200.
- If you are under the age of 26, the monthly transport card costs 20 euros.
- Mobile tariffs can vary between €20 and €50 per month, while home internet is around 50 euros per month.

Apartments and Rooms
If you are coming to Valencia and you still don’t have housing you will need a few days to find something. We recommend that you stay in one of the city’s hostels while you look for a suitable accommodation. Normally hostels will require a minimum 2-night stay and we suggest that you don’t delay choosing a flat for more than 4 or 5 days, because if you wait longer some of the flats that you saw may already be rented by the time you decide to take them.
Since you would probably want to live near the European University in shared apartments, we recommend these places/areas for your stay: Avinguda Blasco Ibañez, Avinguda Ramon Llull, Plaza Honduras, etc. These areas have all the necessities near your home, such as groceries, restaurants, cafes, etc.
Another common place to stay is in the Benimaclet area. This neighborhood is also close to the university but with cheaper flats. It is also well connected with the city through the tramline.
If you enjoy the beach, then the Cabanyal neighborhood is a great option. Like the others, it’s close to the university. With easy access to the beach you can really have a great time with your friends.

In 2023 a typical room in a student residence in Valencia averages around €600-700/month.
