The Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus provides state-of-the-art facilities and living labs for its environmental, horticulture, hospitality and tourism, and business programs. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is also home to the Wine Visitor + Education Centre, the award-winning Niagara College Teaching Winery – the first commercial teaching winery in Canada, the Niagara College Teaching Brewery, and the Niagara College Teaching Distillery, all of which are part of Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute.

PROGRAMS

Study in Canada can be not only the start of an exciting and enriching educational experience, but also the launching pad to building your life in Canada.

After completion of a post-secondary program, graduates can apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which may last for up to three years. If the official length of your program of study is two years or more, you may be granted a work permit for the period of three years. Work obtained through the PGWP Program may help support your application to become a permanent resident of Canada.

You may apply to Niagara College’s program if you meet the college’s admission and English proficiency requirements. Please note that some programs are highly competitive and may not be available to international applicants. Canadian colleges give priority to permanent residents of Ontario and Canada when accepting applicants to their programs. In high demand – If you have an interest in health care and want to be part of the fast-growing area of medical office administration, then we recommend Niagara College’s popular 2-year Diploma program Office Administration – Health Services. This program also has a field placement component that will allow you to put into practice the curriculum you’ve learned in the classroom to the workplace setting.

Co-operative Education

Niagara College also offers Co-operative (Co-op) Education which is a combination of studying along with work terms. This system provides the student to gain substantial work experience along with alternate studying at college. There are various such programs offered in the fields of management, business, engineering, hospitality, etc.

Perhaps, you are a problem solver with an interest in how vehicles work and the impact of automotive technology on modern day cars and trucks? If you are, then the Motive Power Technician – Automotive (Co-op) Program is ideal for you. In Niagara College, you will have an opportunity to use the latest technical equipment in state-of-the-art labs and gain exposure to current motive power technology in one-of-a-kind electric vehicle lab.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake campus is also home to Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute (CFWI), one of the world’s finest and most unique culinary, wine and beer schools. It specializes in Canadian regional cuisine with a focus on culinary arts and science, wine and beer sciences, food technology, and research. CFWI consists of four major learning enterprises: 1) Benchmark Restaurant, showcasing food, wine and beer created, prepared and presented by students and that have earned the restaurant Trip Advisor, Diner’s Choice and Clef d’Or awards; 2) Niagara College Teaching Brewery – the first commercial teaching brewery in Canada; 3) Niagara College Teaching Distillery – the first and only of its kind in Canada; and 4) Niagara College Teaching Winery – a unique ‘living laboratory’ for students and the only fully licensed teaching winery in Canada.

There are also more than 400 pathway opportunities offered through Niagara College. You may choose to continue your studies at several partner universities in Canada and abroad to advance your credentials from a diploma to a degree, or a degree to a master’s. A standard academic year includes two terms. A standard academic term is 15-weeks in length. This includes seven weeks of instruction, a one-week academic break, and is followed by another seven-weeks of instruction. Full-time students are permitted to work off-campus up to 20 hours per week during their study component. Students are also allowed to work full-time during the academic breaks.

✅ Work in Canada: While studying full-time in Canada on a valid study permit, students can work up to 20 hours per week during the school year, and full-time on scheduled breaks.

ACCOMMODATION

 The Niagara Region is affordable with accommodations and living expenses less than what you would find in Canada’s larger cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Residence

Residence Suites are designed for those students who want to experience living among other students, yet still wish to maintain a little privacy. Residence accommodations are only steps away from the main campus buildings, and are available at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses.

Niagara College’s Welland Campus residence offers 117 double suites, while the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus residence offers 101 double suites.

You will have your own furnished bedroom (a double bed, desk and work area, drawer and closet space) and share kitchen and washroom facilities with one other student. Each bedroom includes a television and internet connection. Students must buy and cook their own meals. The kitchen includes a fridge and microwave. Furnished lounges with TV, pool table and games, study rooms and social areas are also provided.

Landing Pad

The Landing Pad program is designed to provide international students with 30 days of safe accommodation. Hosts support students through the provision of a home & two meals per day, while the college offers information and adjustment help.

Your Landing Pad host pays for routine expenses in the home, including 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner). You may have to prepare your own breakfast and lunch with the food provided. Consider contributing to extra expenses if you have special dietary requirements, go to special events or go on weekend trips with your homestay family.

Step 1

Filling out PRODIREKT Application and Terms & Conditions (T&C) forms:

Please note that filling out the PRODIREKT Application Form and Terms & Conditions does not secure a place on the program, nor does it mean you are under obligation to attend this program. It is simply the first step in the application process, so that we can give you precise information and check availability on the program. A contract is signed directly with the college, and a place is confirmed after program fees are settled.

Step 2

Sending to booking@prodirekt.net the following documents:

  1. PRODIREKT Application Form,
  2. PRODIREKT Terms & Conditions,
  3. Photocopy of the student’s passport,
  4. The student’s most recent passport size photograph, and
  5. Copy of the student’s High School/Secondary Education Diploma

As internationally accredited academic advisors and representatives of Niagara College, it is our responsibility to review your documentation and evaluate the admission requirements to ensure you are eligible to apply for the program. To that end, you should also expect to have a video interview with one of our senior advisors.

Step 3

We will schedule a Skype/Viber/Zoom interview with you, so that we can make a final assessment of your English level and determine if the program is right for you.

Step 4

If we conclude that you are eligible to apply for the program, PRODIREKT advisors will help you submit your Niagara College application online and upload electronic copies of your documents to support your application. We will also check with the college if the program you desire to enroll is open (currently accepting applications).

It is important that you submit a complete application with all required documentation to ensure timely processing of your application by the college. Official educational documents are required in order to be considered for admission. Official translations of transcripts and/or proof of graduation must bear the seal or stamp of the notary/official translator.

Step 5

If you are accepted to the program, Niagara College will email you Welcome Package which will include a Letter of Acceptance, Conditions of Acceptance, Confirmation of Acceptance, Estimation of Fees, and other important enrollment documentation.

Step 6

Applying for your Student Permit/Co-op Work Permit/VISA, if applicable.

‼️ Important: As part of the immigration requirements, you need to prove that you have enough money to fully support yourself (and your dependents) during your stay in Canada. Minimum funds needed to support yourself as a student: CAN$10,000. Note: this amount is in addition to the tuition amount you are expected prove you have. 

Step 7

Once the Study Permit is received, you are required to pay your tuition. You will be offered the two payment options: Payment of Full Academic Year or Payment of First Semester Only. Your seat in the desired program is secured only after program fees are settled.
