Canada announced a significant expansion of its Student Direct Stream (SDS) on 9 July 2021, with students from seven new countries throughout the Americas now eligible to participate in the expedited program for Canadian study permits.
Students from Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago may now apply via SDS, an online option that offers faster processing times for eligible study permit applicants.

A new immigration route has opened on Thursday (1 July 2021), allowing international graduates to kick-start their careers in the UK after they have finished their studies at a UK university. One important point that is often overlooked when comparing study options in Germany is the overall timeline.
While public universities may appear less expensive at first, many international students cannot enter them directly. If their school-leaving qualification is not considered equivalent for direct admission, they may first need to complete a Studienkolleg or another preparation pathway, usually combined with higher German language requirements. This makes the route longer and often delays entry into the job market; in practice, the full path to graduation can take around 4–5 years for many international students.
At private universities such as UE, students can usually start directly and complete a Bachelor’s degree in 3 years, entering the job market earlier and starting to earn sooner.
In simple terms, it is not only about tuition, but about how quickly you start your career.
