Education abroad: Discover the highlights of PRODIREKT and Verbalists Education’s participation at ICEF Berlin 2023, where over 2,600 attendees converged to explore opportunities in the education industry.
10–NOV–2023 | ICEF Berlin, the flagship event of ICEF, held from November 5-7, set new records this year with over 2,600 attendees from 110 countries engaging in 25,279 meetings. At least 70 of these meetings involved our representatives, Dejan Trpkovic, Managing Director of PRODIREKT, and Sanja Conjagic, Regional Business Development Manager of Verbalists Education & Language Network. We connected with dozens of colleagues, peers, partners, and friends from across the global education industry.
The decision to pursue education abroad is immensely challenging, and as leading academic advisors and educators, we recognize the importance of understanding myriad cultural considerations to effectively support our students. Our conference attendance kicked off with participation in two engaging seminars that we found particularly valuable:
- Sustainability in international education: what needs to be done?
- Cultural awareness in international student recruitment
On the first day of the conference, we made significant progress in expanding PRODIREKT’s high school offerings by forging agreements with schools in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and the US. In line with the Verbalists Language Network’s increased global reach, we also negotiated new summer camps in the most attractive language learning destinations.
During the second day of the event, PRODIREKT and Verbalists Education continued to make numerous new connections and partnerships. As a long-term internationally accredited agency by ICEF, we also had the chance to spend some time in the exclusive lounge with the ICEF management. It’s worth noting that this organization has made several enhancements to its Agency Status accreditation, including additional vetting and ICEF’s new code of conduct for agencies. Currently, over 1,500 education agencies in 115 countries have been accredited and have ICEF Agency Status – a designation that is valid for one year and for which the vetting and review process is refreshed annually.
After the ICEF Berlin workshop, we had the privilege of being invited by our long-term partner, the German Language School (GLS), to celebrate its 40th birthday. Over the past 20 years, we’ve grown alongside GLS, one of the most renowned language schools in the German-speaking market and a five-time winner of the Star School Germany award. The fantastic birthday party took place at Hotel Oderberger, a spectacular architectural jewel on the GLS campus.
Events like ICEF Berlin not only allow us to connect with existing and new education providers but also offer the opportunity to visit partner schools and meet our students studying there. This year, our regional manager visited GLS school to tour their Berlin campus and summer school on Lake Wolzig, 30 km southeast of Berlin. While we’ve visited the splendid GLS campus on numerous occasions, the chance to meet our students there is always priceless. ICEF Berlin will be back for its 29th edition in 2024, and just like in previous years, we’ll be there to consistently create excellent educational opportunities for our students worldwide.
