12–DEC–2022 | Following our October campus tour of our partner, Universidad Catolica de Murcia (UCAM), we recently had a chance to also visit the UCAM HiTech center in Murcia, Spain.
UCAM HiTech Center
We were impressed with UCAM’s newly established high-tech incubator where entrepreneurship and research come together to serve society. HiTech supports projects that are in their incubation phase in the field of health, sport and food with a high technological component.
What is your leadership signature?
We were told by César Nicolás, Director at UCAM HiTech, that the start-ups found the training and mentoring activities, access to the UCAM university’s research capacity, collaboration with UCAM’s strategic partners, and access to investment options most valuable.
More than 70 projects from all over Spain have participated in UCAM HiTech initiatives throughout 2022.
In 2020, UCAM was awarded an overall score of four stars out of a maximum of five by the prestigious company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which specializes in analyzing higher education institutions across the world. UCAM was particularly recognized for its teaching model, social responsibility and the inclusiveness of its university campuses. The high scores were also given for employability, internationalization and outstanding programs.
